'Boy Erased' is the story of a young man?s struggle to find who he is while being forced to question every aspect of his own identity. The film is based on the biography of Garrard Conley?s 'Boy Erased: A Memoir of Identity, Faith, and Family'. 'Boy Erased' is the portray of the son of a Baptist pastor in a small town in America. He cames out of the closet at age 19 and his parents pressure him into attending a gay conversion therapy program. There is no other option for Jared the ultimatum is as clear as day, either attend to the gay conversion programme or face the fact that he is no welcome anymore at his own home. There's a big chance that he will be permanently exiled and shunned by his family, friends, and church if he refuses to go.
