Plot
If history teaches us anything, it is that the great geniuses could not have achieved what they achieved without company. The case of the painter Pierre Bonnard is no different from the rest: without Marthe, his muse, he could not have achieved anything. In fact, more than a third of Bonnard's work is inspired by the beautiful Marthe. But art and love lives have rarely resulted in tame paths. 'Bonnard: Pierre & Marthe' explores the dichotomies in Martha and Bonnard's relationship, which go from total seclusion to painful and inevitable dependence. Likewise, the figure of Marthe is magnified before Bonnard as a mysterious and passionate beauty, the detonator of his art until the end of his days.
Cécile de France ('The Young Pope'), Vincent Macaigne ('C'est la vie') and Stacy Martin ('Nymphomaniac. Volue 1') star in 'Bonnard: Pierre & Marthe', a film about love, talent and ambition written (side by side with Marc Abdelnour) and directed by Martin Provost ('Séraphine').
The production companies in charge of 'Bonnard: Pierre & Marthe' are Les Films du Kiosque, Volapuk, Umedia, Canal+, Ciné+. Also, VerCine is in charge of distribution, which sets the release date in theaters for August 30, 2024.
