Bigman

'Bigman' is a film written and directed by Camiel Schouwenaar that tells the story of Dylan, a 13-year-old boy passionate about soccer and captain of a team coached by his father. Together with his best friend Youssef, they decide to enter the team in the Touzani Cup. However, a serious accident causes an injury that seems to ruin Dylan's hopes. Despite everything, he is convinced that he will recover and win the tournament.

The plot is based on the personal experiences of Job Tichelman, the film's co-writer, who was born with a spinal cord injury. The director explained the following about his partner: "We wanted to tell a universal story and, for that reason, Job and I agreed to project his personal experiences in a story of friendship and improvement. The true beauty of the film is that it is about an authentic story, and that is mainly thanks to Job's contributions to the film.

The film, which celebrates friendship, perseverance, solidarity and highlights the educational value of football, has been presented at numerous film festivals (Giffoni, Gijón, kyiv, São Paulo, Zlin, Brussels...), obtaining prizes in 10 of them. Finally, it will hit movie theaters in Spain from European Dreams Factory on June 14, 2024.
