Bienvenido Mr. Heston

This documentary is set in 1961, when a little village from Valladolid, called Torrelobatón, became the location of 'El Cid', a blockbuster from Hollywood which told the story of the famous character from the literature of Castilla. The inhabitants of the little town received affectionatelly Anthony Mann and Samuel Bronston, the producers of the film, who contracted the inhabitants as extras of the movie.

Directed by Pedro Estepa Menéndez and Elena Ferrándiz Sanz, 'Bienvenido Mr. Heston' has been nominated to the Goya awards 2017 in the categories of Best Documentary Movie, Best New Direction, Best Photography Director, Best Sound and Best Special Effects.

The movie has been presented in various film festivals such as Seminci.
