Behemoth

Behemot is the name of the mythical terrifying monster that ruled the mountains at midnights according to the Old Testament. Nowadays, the nightmare of the inhabitants of the rural zones are the iron mines, which have damaged seriously the Chinese landscape. The workers of the mine life their particular daily hell, because they have to work underground in the morning and they have to guard the zone at night. The awful working conditions of these untireless workers make that their life expectancy reduces itself due to the respiratory problems that they suffer for the dust of the mines.

'Behemoth' is a documentary which was directed by Zhao Liang and released at the Venice Film Festival in 2015.
