Beating Hearts

Jackie (Mallory Wanecque) is an upper-middle class student that lives her high school days comfortably. One day, she meets Clotaire (Malik Frikah), a boy from a modest and problematic family who does not want to study, so he skips classes. Despite their differences, they both get along and fall strongly in love, teaching each other about each surroundings.

However, when Clotaire, who is member of a mafia, gets into trouble, he is forced to separate from Jackie to serve twelve years in prison. Although Jackie cannot forget him, the young woman ends up rebuilding her life and the years pass by. After finishing his sentence, Clotaire, who could not ever forget her, tries to find her again.

After an exhaustive research, an already adult Clotaire (François Civil) discovers that his partner has moved on and is happily married with her husband. The adult version of Jackie (Adèle Exarchopoulos) discovers the return of her boyfriend, but it is too late. Despite this, destiny will try to unite them again to return to the point they were before. The cost? That the demons from Clotaire's past are coming back for him.
