Plot
The story of the movie is set in the 50s, somewhere in Corea. In that place and during a cold and dark night, one of the generals of the army, Süleyman, finds a little girl who is alone and seems abandoned in the middle of the battlefield. When he sees her, he decides to take her inside the base and adopt her as his own child. He called her Ayla. Between them appears a strong bond that will grow, but when the war is over, his army will have to go back to their home and Ayla will have to stay in an orphanage. The main cuestion is whether they will rencounter in the future.
Can Ulkay is the director of the film starring Çetin Tekindor, Ismail Hacioglu, Ali Atay and Damla Sönmez, among others.

Death of the real main character
On Dec. 7, 2017, Suleyman Dilbirligi died at the age of 91 in Istanbul, within two months after the premiere, while the film was still in general release.
Real main character's cameo
Towards the end of the movie, when Sergeant go to mosque, he greets an old man who is reading his newspaper in front of a cafe. That old man is the real life Süleyman who was 91 years old at the time.
Location change
Iskenderun, where the turkish part of the story begins, is a cosmopolite southern industrial city of Turkey. The natal city of Suleyman, the main character is Maras, it's most likely a rural city at the southeast of Turkey. So, it gives in fact some kind of a sociological depth to the turkish characters of the story.
