Hiroshima's bominng seventy years ago demonstrated the destructive power of an atomic bomb. The filmmaker Mark Cousins shows in his experimental documentary the disaster that caused the atomic age (in the context of second World War and Cold War), but also their successes. The film focuses on the new times, a nuclear era. With archival footage and music from Scottish rock band Mogwai, the tape shows protest marches, Cold War, the consequences of Chernobyl and Fukushima. Also the beauty of this power, how x-rays and MRI improved the quality of life of humans. Therefore, the nuclear age has been a nightmare but also a blessing like everything else with advantages and disadvantages.
