Plot
'Arizona Raiders' is an American western directed by William Witney and starring Audie Murphy. The film premiered in U.S. theaters on August 1, 1965.
Murphy plays Clint Stewart, a Confederate soldier who travels west to join a band of deserters, "Quantrill's Raiders," and ends up being captured along with his friend Willie Martin. In prison, with the help of a former captain of the United States Army, now the chief of the Arizona Rangers, they devise an escape plan. Captain Andrews has promised to grant them a pardon if they help stop a new band of deserters formed by former members of "Quantrill's Raiders."
Things get complicated when Montana Smith, one of the members of the new gang, ends up murdering Willie and Clint's own brother, who will strive to avenge the deaths of both.
The cast of 'Arizona Raiders' also includes Michael Dante, Ben Cooper, Buster Crabbe, Gloria Talbott, Ray Stricklyn, George Keyman, Fred Krone, and Willard Willingham, among others. The film was shot on location in Arizona with a budget of approximately $400,000, of which $45,000 went to the salary of the lead actor, Audie Murphy.
