Plot
Selma will give a change to her life when, after having studied for many years in France, he decides to open a psychoanalytic consultation in a well-known neighborhood in Tunisia. Although at first it seems that this business is not paying off, in some moment everything will get on track, getting so much demand that it can't support its capabilities. This will make Selma have to get a document, with which he can expand his business, but what he doesn't know is that a revolution is about to take place in the country, which will complicate things. In her struggle to achieve this significant certificate, the young woman will face a past that seemed forgotten in time. In this sophisticated comedy, Manele Labidi opens a fascinating window into modern Tunisia at a crossroads, with a story of contrasts, contradictions and culture clashes, full of vitality and humour. It was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. It is a tale of the modern working-class, as sharp in its portrayal of the violence and cruelty of our world as it is optimistic.
The film is written and directed by Manele Labidi Labbé. The cast is formed by Golsifeth Farahani as Selma, Majd Mastoura, Hichem Yacoubi as Raouf and Amen Arbi, among others.
