Antes de Nós

A couple, two moments in time. A constant dance of distance and reunion, of silences that weigh more than words. This is the story of Castelao and Virxinia, before they became the names that remained in memory, before they became "us."

In 1918, in the midst of the Spanish flu pandemic, Castelao leaves his comfortable position in Pontevedra to return to his hometown of Rianxo as a doctor. There, he becomes a hero to the people, but his dedication to duty inevitably distances him from his home and his wife. Virxinia, strong and silent, bears the absence while the world crumbles around her.

A decade later, in 1929, we find them again, this time traveling through Brittany, seeking solace in a foreign landscape after the loss of their only child. They are two broken beings, barely recognizing each other. The journey, laden with pain and beauty, forces them to confront the abyss that separates them… and the invisible threads that still bind them.

Between the intimacy of mourning and the murmur of a Galicia awakening, this is a story of love, identity, and memory. Of how art, word, and commitment also arise from loss. Of Castelao before he became Castelao. Of Galicia before the "Xeración Nós." Of a bond that, despite everything, remains.
