Antiporno

A Japanese film reviving the Roman porno series. The film begins with prima donna Kyoko, who is an artist and writer. Kyoko is always always finding ways to humiliate her assistant, Noriko, in front of other members of staff. 'Antiporno' features several repeated scenes as is becomes apparent that the two characters are actually performing in a porno movie within the film.

Ami Tomite plays Kyoko, whilst Noriko is portrayed by Mariko Tsutsui. Despite being a revival, 'Antiporno' very much makes fun out of Roman porno. The film, both written and directed by Sion Sono, is a first, given that he has never really depicted his female characters in a positive light in the past. 'Antiporno' challenges the gender roles typically seen in Sono's other films.
