And the Party Goes On

Rosa (Ariane Ascaride) is a 60-year-old woman whose story is based on an arduous political career in which values always come first. Although the most normal thing is not to mix work and family, for Rosa, both worlds, which in principle require different attentions, demand a deep personal and, of course, common sacrifice. Both her career and her dedication and attitude in life make Rosa a woman famous for her characteristic impassive nature. Problems are solved with her head held high. It is for this reason that people who know Rosa see her as the only hope to seal the union of the left a few days before crucial elections. However, the elections are not enough reason for Rosa to worry. It is probable that not even she herself knows what can move her soul, because she always manages to emerge victorious. Nevertheless, Rosa will meet Henri (Jean-Pierre Darroussin), with whom she will fall in love. That day; that instant in which Rosa falls in love with Henri, she discovers that what could move her soul is love, because the commitment of love implies detaching from one's own suffering to embrace the suffering of others.

Written and directed by Robert Guédiguian, 'And the Party Goes On' features Ariane Ascaride and Jean-Pierre Darroussin in the main cast, accompanied by Lola Naymark and Robinson Stévenin.
