Ancient Soul

Yono, played by Aris Munandar, is a miner who works in a sulfur mine in the east of the island of Java, on the slopes of the Kawa Ijen volcano. His life changes forever the day his wife Oliv decides to leave him and after that he will do everything in his power to win her back. Driven by his faith, Yono will experience different events as his beliefs change shape. The story takes place on the island of Java, Indonesia.

It has been directed by Álvaro Gurrea, who has previously worked as an actor in '7 calles' and 'Bandera Negra'. Gurrea lives partially in Indonesia, where Yono's story takes place. In addition, this film will be his debut as a director in a feature film.
