Plot
Roald Amundsen, the legendary Norwegian explorer, born in 1872 and deceased in 1928, is given the mission to reach the top of one of the polar summits of the world, a point which has never been explored by anyone before. As if the conditions and the questions that this trip brings up are not enough pressure, the news about how their competitor, the British Empire, is thinking about adding the Antarctic to its territories by sending sixty-five men out there, spreads like wildfire around the scientific community. What was once a simple investigation becomes a race in which they will have to face all kinds of calamities in atrocious weather conditions. To emerge victorious, Amundsen and his men must lie to those around them to conceal their daring trip.
Amundsen is portrayed as an implacable, efficient and effective man, who was obsessed with his career and the race against the team of Robert Falcon Scott and the British Empire in general, to reach the South Pole.
The movie is directed by Espen Sandberg ('Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales', 'Kon-Tiki') and stars by Pål Sverre Hagen ('Kon-Tiki', 'Birkebeinerne'), Katherine Waterson ('Inherent Vice', 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'), Adrian Lukis ('The Crown', 'Poldark') y Mads Sjøgård Pettersen ('Occupied', 'Eddie the Eagle').
