Ambulance

The city of Gaza was the target of an Israeli military operation in July and August 2014. Filmmaker Mohamed Jabaly wanted to document the human costs of the attacks, and decided to join an ambulance staff, knowing they would be on the front line constantly. They were treating injuries when possible and when it wasn?t, they evacuated the wounded from all over the Gaza strip to hospitals and safe shelters. Jabaly?s camera was rolling continuously, capturing difficult scenes directly, with no distance, no chance to analyze. This film shows both daily life in Gaza during the attacks and the routines of the ambulance staff. Not only how they put their lives in danger to save others, but also in the moments of normality: joking, dreaming and remembering what ordinary life without war is like.
