What are the limits between responsibility and freedom? Clare Weiskopf looks into maternity in this documentary about her own life. Her mother, Val, abandoned their family after seeing how Carolina, the eldest daughter, died in a tragedy. Leaving two children and a father behind, Val hit the road and went to live in the Amazon jungle of Colombia, trying to give some sense to her life. Clare, now a film director, gets pregnant, so she decides to search for her own mother, who left her when she was 11 and never understood why. In the middle of the jungle, both of them will face their own decisions recreating the meaning of maternity and what it means to have children. Should you give yourself unselfishly to your own family or is your life more important at the end of the day?
