Always Be My Maybe

'Always Be My Maybe' is an American romantic comedy written and starring Randall Park and Ali Wong. It is also the first movie directed by Nahnatchka Khan. It is a production of Good Universe and was released on May 29th, 2019, as a limited theatrical release. Two days after, Netflix launched it worldwide.

Ali Wong and Randall Park are Sasha and Marcus, two young people who have been raised together in the same San Francisco neighbourhood. She has vietnamese origin and he is korean, and the hay shared everything since they were children. In their adolescence, Marcus's mother unexpectedly dies in an accident. When Sasha tries to console Marcus, the end having sex, and the relationship between them breaks.

Now 16 years have passed, and the life of Sasha has evolved considerably: she is a famous chef engaged to Brandon Choi, a rich and handsome restaurateur. However, things for Marcus hare mostly the same: he is still living with his father in the same neighbourhood and works as an AC installator. When Sasha comes back to San Francisco to supervise the opening of a new restaurant, she meets again with Marcus when he goes to install her AC.

After that brief encounter, they start meeting again and their chemistry appears again, specially when Sasha breaks up with his fiancé and he asked to delay their wedding one more time. However, when Marcus was ready to take the next step, Sasha confesses she is again in love... of actor Keanu Reeves.

'Always Be My Maybe' received positive reviews. The cast includes Keanu Reeves as himself, as well as James Saito, Daniel Dae Kim, Michelle Buteau, Susan Park, Vivian Bang and Charlyne Yi.
