Plot
'Altamira' is a historical film directed by Hugh Hudson. It is his first feature film in fifteen years, since his last one in 2000.
Focused at the end of the XIX Century, this film tells the story of a family man, Marcelino, an amateur archeologist that discovers with his 9 years old daughter something that will change the way the human history has been stablished since the beginning: a few pre-historical paintings inside some caves in Santander. These discoveries will be later known as the Altamira's caves. The Catholic church and the scientific community of that time found this discovery fraudulent and as an attack on the faith of the Christian community. This controversy will tear their family apart and only redemption and recognition will make things right for them.
