Almost Ghosts

Harley Russel is a musician who live with the tips he can get in a poor bar in Oklahoma. Ángel Delgadillo is a ninety-one-years-old barber man, the last one from Selligman, Arizona. Lowell David is eighty years old and the only citizen in the ghost town of Red Oak II, Missouri. This town was reconstructed by himself from the ashes. Those three towns that the director chose to record are about to be totally forgotten and are closely inhospitable, but all of them has something in common: they all pass through the Route 66.

Route 66, also known as 'The Main Street of America' or 'The Road of Will Rogers' in honor of the famous cowboy and humorist, was seen on November 11, 1926. For 93 years it has been one of the most iconic emblems from the United States, but little by little the population has gone to the big cities and left the iconic highway deserted. Only a few survive to maintain the legacy of their people.

This movie was in Seminci, the author film Festival of Valladolid; and this movie also won the Best Documentary Award in the International Film Festival of Arizona of 2019.

This documentary, directed by the Spanish director Ana Ramón Rubio, focus on those three perseverant men try to save the iconic route that once connected the USA from East to West.
