Plot
When compositor Gustav Mahler (Marcello De Nardo) dies in 1912, his wife Alma (Emily Cox) doesn't have to worry for material problems anymore. Also, after his death, Alma is socially safe because everyone in high society of Viena adores the musician's widow.
But the woman hates everything that represents those people. That's why on spring 1912, Alma Mahler, recently a widow and Great Lady of Viena's Society, starts to hang out with the "Enfant Terrible" of the artistic scene of the moment named Oskar Kokoschka.
The film follows the "amour fou" between the great lady of Vienna's cultural society and the expressionist artist (who is much younger) Oskar Kokoschka. Alma lets herself be painted by the artist, seduces him and teaches him the arts of eroticism. He is just one more conquest for her, but she is her first great love. So much so that he makes her his muse and source of inspiration. However, Alma refuses to be there just for him, because what she really wants is to be recognized in society.
This romantic and historical drama, which is also a biography, is directed by Dieter Berner and written by the director together with Hilde Berger. The main characters of this intriguing story, Alma and Oskar, are played by Emily Cox and Valentin Postlmayr respectively. The cast is completed by actors such as Tatiana Pauhofová, Anton von Lucke, Wilfried Hochholdinger or Cornelius Obonya, among others.
