Ali and Nino

The film 'Ali and Nino' is set at the start of the 20th century in the great city of Baku. It's the capital of Azerbaijan and it's a rich city, growing in its cosmopolitanism, all of this thanks to the oil it possesses. Ali is a muslim born into a high class family that is close to royalty and he falls in love with the beautiful Nino, a christian princess. To be able to be together they must confront the prejudices and their family's hostilities, they must defy the ancient traditions of the country they live in. When they finally manage to be together and overcome all the problems that their relationship had a terrible war threatens to take away everything they know and love.

The film is directed by Asif Kapadia (director of 'Amy') and it's leading roles are for María Valverde and Adam Bakri, together they will bring this beautiful love story to life.
