'About 12' is the directorial debut of Martin Shanly. It is a dramatic comedy that focuses on the figure of a twelve year old girl named Juana, a reality that it's already defined by its title. This little girl goes to a bilingual school in a wealthy area of the town and she lives with her family and she gets almost everything she wants. But in the end she doesn't fit in school. Her own teachers have decided to contact her mother due to her low grades at school. This reality makes her vulnerable at being bullied at school by her classmates. Her mother will be determined to help her but not as she should be helping her. Her mother prefers psychological help for her daughter than help her instead.
