Plot
'A White, White Day' follows Ingimundur (Ingvar Sigurdsson, 'Everest', 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald'), an Icelandic policeman grieving for his wife, whom he lost in a car accident. Unable to open up to his therapist about his grief, Ingimundur pours the intensity of his emotions into his belief that his wife was having an affair before she died. Ingimundur uses his knowledge of investigatory procedures to search for evidence and track down the person that he believes his wife was cheating on him with in their small, coast-bound town.
Amongst Ingimundur's anger, he finds some happiness in caring for his 8-year-old-granddaughter, Salka (Ída Mekkín Hlynsdóttir), though she also soon notices her beloved grandfather's repressed anger and emotion. As Ingimunder believes he is growing closer and closer to finding the man that his wife was having the affair with, his grief threatens to isolate him from his remaining loved ones.
'A White, White Day' is written and directed by Hlynur Palmason, whose other works include 'Winter Brothers' and 'Seven Boats'. Hilmir Snær Guðnason ('White Night Wedding', 'Prisoners'), Björn Ingi Hilmarsson ('Real Humans', 'Trapped') and Sara Dögg Ásgeirsdóttir ('Pity the Lovers', 'Stella Blómkvist') also star.
