A Tale of Love and Desire

The film 'A Tale of Love and Desire' follows Ahmed, a young argelian boy. Ahmed spends his entire childhood living on the outskirts of the city of Paris. When he arrives at the university, he meets Farah, a young tunisian girl. Farah, who just arrived in París, is a very nice and cheerful girl. Ahmed finds a collection of arabic books of erotic and sensual literature. As he reads the books, he falls in love with Farah. The readings of these books cause Ahmed to be totally overwhelmed with desire towards Farah. Nevertheless, he will try to resist as he can this desire. The film stars Sami Outalbali as Ahmed and Zbeida Belhajamor as Farah. The rest of the cast is completed by Diong-Kéba Tacu, Aurélia Petit, Mahia Zrouki, Bellamine Abdelmalek, Mathilde Lamusse y Samir Elhakim. The film is directed and written by Leyla Bouzid. 'A Tale of Love and Desire' ('Une histoire d'amour et de désir') is the second feature film made by Bouzid. After making several award-winning short films, she premiered his first feature film 'When I Open My Eyes' in 2015. This first feature film won more than fourty intenationals awards, and managed to achieve a successful premiere in french and tunisian cinemas. The film is producted by Blue Monday Productions, Arte France Cinéma, Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée, Canal+, Ciné+, Cinémage 14 and Fonds Images de la Diversité.
