A pesar de todo

Sara (Blanca Suárez, 'Cable Girls'), Lucía (Macarena García, 'The Ministry of Time'), Sofía (Amaia Salamanca, 'Morocco: Love in Times of War') and Claudia (Belén Cuesta, 'Money Heist') are four sisters with radically different personalities. Sara is a high-flying fashion executive in New York saddened that the love of her life, Alejandro (Maxi Iglesias, 'Ingobernable') did not follow her to the US; Claudia is hiding her ailing marriage and resulting affair from the others; Sofía is struggling with the prospect of introducing her girlfriend to her family, and Lucía is a sexually adventurous woman who doesn't want to settle down.

The four sisters are reunited in their home city Madrid when their mother passes away and they must go to her lawyer to witness the dividing up of her estate. When they arrive, the lawyer reveals a video in which their mother, Carmen (Marisa Paredes, 'The Skin I Live In'), reveals that each woman has a different biological father. To receive their respective shares of her estate, they must seek out and arrange to meet their fathers. The girls, who always believed that they shared the same father, must deal with the tensions that erupt amongst them whilst they embark on their search.

'Despite Everything' is a Netflix drama directed by Gabriela Tagliavini, whose other works include 'Ladies' Night' and 'The Woman Every Man Wants'.
