Plot
Étienne Tinan (Andranic Manet, 'Heal the Living') is a young student who is dedicated to becoming a great filmmaker, a goal which leads him to leave behind his life and girlfriend Lucie (Diane Rouxel, 'Head Above Water') in Lyon in favour of attending film school in Paris. Étienne immediately adapts to the bohemian lifestyle and forms close bonds with his fellow students, the happy-go-lucky Jean-Noël (Gonzague Van Bervesselès, 'Tout est permis') and the arrogant, alluring Mathias (Corentin Fila, 'Mortal'). Together, the three boys while away the days talking about art and film and storytelling. Despite their friendship, Étienne regular compares his achievements to those of Mathias and this confusing aspect of their relationship intensifies when Étienne gets involved with Annabelle (Sophie Verbeeck, 'Iris'), a political activist, plunging the three into an unexpected love triangle. Étienne must work out how to juggle his art and his life, and who exactly he is amongst all of that.
'A Paris Education' is written and directed by Jean-Paul Civeyrac ('My Friend Victoria'). Also joining the cast are Jenna Thiam ('The Collection'), Nicolas Bouchaud ('Non-Fiction'), Valentine Catzéflis ('The Beating Heart Chronicles') and Charlotte Van Bervesselès ('Money').
