'A Dog's Way Home' trivia and fun facts

Wolfs? No, thank you

The wolves in this film are really coywolves which are a wolf-coyote hybrid. Regular wolves that inhabit northwestern American states (including Alaska), northern portions of the Great Lakes region and Canada are gray/grey and white while coyotes have brown, tan, gray/grey and white fur. Coyotes that are partially wolves inhabit northeastern American states and eastern Canada.

Dog's Cinematic Universe

Despite the title and having the same book author, this will not be a sequel to 'A Dog's Purpose'. However, Universal Pictures is planning to release a sequel to that film titled 'A Dog's Journey' scheduled to be released the same year as this film.

Beware the spoilers!

The trailer has been widely criticised, as it clearly shows the entire film's highlights, including the ending.

Bella

The dog that plays the adult version of Bella is named Shelby and she was a rescue dog. She was found living in a junkyard in Tennessee.

Finding Ron Howard

Famous director Ron Howard appears to have a hidden cameo in the film. In the background, near the end of the movie, a man gets out of a car, and it's Ron Howard. This is likely because his daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, plays the voice of Bella. Howard also co-starred in American Graffiti with director Charles Martin Smith.
