A Caribbean Dream

'A Caribbean Dream' is a reinvention of the classic Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. The film takes the action to modern Barbados, reimagining all the characters from a new point of view. The island's Crop Over Festival is the scenery chosen for this epic tale, where chaos, magic and fantasy come together. We already know the story: a group of playful fairies make four lovers lose their heads during one night, removing the ribbons that get them together and making them fall in love with the wrong person. The film reclaims Caribbean culture in the middle of a full moon night using one of Shakespeare's most known comedies. The film crew come from both Barbados and the United Kingdom.
