Plot
'2040' relies on some really great minds from all around the world to talk of a way of changing our future to turn it into something way more eco-friendly and sustainable, focusing on capital aspects like climate, economy, technology, civil society, agriculture and sustainability. ¿How would our future be if we just applied all the advances we have in our hands to help our planet?
Damon Gameau, director of this documentary, makes himself this question motivated by her 4-year-old daughter and her concerne and awareness for the planet in which she is going to spend her whole life. Gameau takes us on a trip around the world to see the solutions that are already available to improve our environment's health and the functioning of our societies by talking to great experts but also to many kids that he finds along the way. The documentary assembles dramatic sequences with a visual effects deployment that helps us to understand how our world could be in the future without the dystopian vision that is usually given to us.
It is a good visual achievement shaped like a letter from a father to his little daughter, trying to be an entertaining documentary as well as educational in order to be able for us to change our not really far away future.
