Plot
'Age of Shadows' is set in the late 1920s, while Korea was under Japanese occupation. Koreans belonging to the resistance are trying to destroy the Japanese base of Seoul, using explosives that they try to bring from Shanghai. While they're carrying out this dangerous mission, the Japanese officers try to stop them by all possible means. At this point we will witness the internal struggle of Lee Jung-chool, one of the policemen who is at the service of the Japanese, whose native roots are Korean. This policeman will find himself at a moral crossroads that will force him to make a difficult decision: choose between his professional duty to the Japanese and support to a greater cause related to his hometown.
Kim Jee-Woon ('I Saw the Devil') directs this spy thriller based on the final stage of the 1920s, featuring Lee Byung-hun ('G.I. Joe:Retaliation'), Yoo Gong ('Train to Busan') and Han Ji-min ('A Jewel in the Palace'); among many others.
