Plot
Robin Campillo, known for his work as a screenwriter for 'Les revenants', helms this French film about activism and love. At the early 90s Paris, AIDS is taking the lives of hundreds of people, while society remains indifferent to the spread of the disease. A group of young people create ACT UP, an activist platform, where they fight to raise awareness against the disease, pressure to get a medical treatment and inform about the need of having safe sex. Sean (Nahuel Pérez Biscayart) fights until his last breath, which will catch the attention of Nathan (Arnaud Valois), a new arrival to the group. 'BPM' got the Grand Prize of the Jury at the 2017 Cannes festival, and it was nominated for the Palme d'Or.
